Default Do I need a pair ?

Picked up a puncture today, get to the garage and the inside sidewall is split too.
Only had all 4 tyres 6 months ago, so 5mm left on the other front one and 6mm on both rears.
When new they come with 7mm.
Guy at the garage reckons I should get a pair on the front to be on the safe side, would you say this is right ? (Its only 2mm off what is was new, its not like its down to 3mm all something)
I dont mind spending the extra £100 odd quid, but dont wanna spend it needlessley...
Whats the verdict, do I need to get a pair on the front ?

Cheers,

Think I'll just go for the one then, unless anyone can persuade/advise me otherwise?

Just my opinion but,

Get both fronts done. You are driving a car capable of going quite quickly. A 4mm difference in tyre diameter is not something I would want to drive and you don't know what it will do to your drivetrain.

Dave.

Yep, I think you're spot on. For the sake of another £100, might as well air on the side of caution and at least they'll both wear at the same rate.

Cheers for the replies guys.

ps the 2 PSI trick might have done the job
