Rear wheel nut cross threaded
Thanks to a local tyre shop - one of my rear wheel nuts is cross threaded. Just wondering how you replace the pin - does it need a whole new rear hub or are the pins individual ?
Anyone else had to do this ?

Would have thought it was a replaceable stud in the hub - just a case of getting the old one out and a new one in...
If you can still get a couple of nuts onto the thread, lock them together with two spanners and then wind out the stud using the nut nearest the hub.
Get hold of a new stud before you try this so you're not going the the garage etc with only 4 wheel studs in
Let me guess - it was some twit (diplomatic
) who didn't take care to engage the thread properly with the air wrench...

You will have to take the rear disc and caliper off to get at it , but the stud(threaded part) will hit out , you need the disc off to get it out and refit a new one , the new one is fitted by pushing it throught the hole in the hub , fit a couple of washers on it and do the wheel nut up , this will bring the stud into place
Its quite easy when you get into it

My import came with longer than std. studs, two of which worked loose. This is a real pain if you need to change a wheel. Disconnect everything electrical and a visit to the MIG welder for a small tack cured it. Check they are firm and cannot be loosened by accidently knocking with a wheel.
