Prodrive Suspension Settings
I have my99 impreza with Prodrive Handling Pack. Been running it now for 15 months and just put 4 new tyres on. How do I check the geometry to ensure even tyre wear etc if Prodrive have set the car up. Do I need to take it to a Subaru Dealer, back to Prodrive or can my local independant tyre fitter do it if I give him the settings???
Kevin,
Any tyre fitter can in theory set the geometry, but they need the correct equipment to set the Toe and Camber.
Phone your dealer and local tyre fitters and ask if they have the equipment to tell you what the geometry is currentlyand if they can change it properly.
The Prodrive settings can be found at the SIDC site

On RE010 I did 12000 miles - 9000 on Prodrive settings. At 10000 miles I had 5mm tread and they were evenly worn (after a rotation at 7500). From 10000-12000 miles they wore as much as they did over the first 10000 miles. Possibly due to 30% more midrange torque
Had to shred them somehow! But they still wore evenly. Managed 0.5mm wear on a 100 mile run in the wet the other day. But at least I can justify putting them in the loft, to be brought out for later punishment
I think I am running about 3/4 degree of equal front negative camber. Some run up to 1.5 degrees - this may result in uneven wear patterns. The "Prodrive" settings are officially maximum equal negative camber - usually around 1 degree.
