Question

I would appreciate some informed opinions on whether or not the bumpsteer mod applied to 16 inch wheels set up would be affected by either an upgrade to 17 inch wheels and/or addition of 2 mil wheel spacers on the front?
Or should I have the job done again?

Thanks

Jerome

Jerome,
I'm fairly sure that the geometry won't have been affected.
How are you getting on with the brakes? What d'you reckon to them after a bit of use?
Would you recommend them to others? Not me of course!

Hey Ron,

The brakes are fine. I've tried a few emergency stops in the dry and they certainly work! I can't imagine the extra stress being put on the car but it's certainly a big improvement on the standard kit. Did you add braided hoses and uprated fluid as well? How is your kit performing?

Hi,
yes I did add the hoses and fluid, It made quite a difference to the firmness of the pedal, but I don't know if it makes the brakes work any better in 'normal' conditions, unlike exmoor
Mine are fine, I don't think I'll need any more. only slight problem is the anti rattle spring has come off a couple of times and rubs the inside of the wheel, not a godspeed prob, but a subaru one!

In general new wheels will not affect the geometry, but take care with the offset and spacers. It can change the behaviour of your car. If you add spacers or wheels with wrong offset, most cars will start tramlining and lift the front during acceleration.
Less offset gives wider track, think on this as a lever, the is extended and the power you transfer to the steering wheel will change. Stay out of trouble, and stick to an offset close to standard.
