Quick question guys,
Does a MY96 WRX have solid or ventilated rear discs as standard?
Thanks SD.

Very interesting, some had vented but most had solid, at least from Japan & NZ.

Asking the question because I just noticed that mine are vented(after owning the car for 18 months-doh!)and I had been under the impression that they were solid as standard.

My MY94 WRX had ventilated as standard. I was under the impression all Jap ones did, but not UK.

And to further confuse the matter some of the cars with vented rear discs have the twin pot calipers while others have the single pot sliding calipers as fitted to uk cars.

I have also seen cars with vented rear discs and two pot calipers on the rear but with the useless 2pots with the small 274mm discs on the front.Very strange.Does anybody know which cars these are?

Andy

If you can read Subaru on the caliper then its a 2 pot, otherwise its a single pot with slider!

I am the proud owner of a MY00 WRX RA V-limited, complete with sliding rear calipers and 2 pot fronts (and that's just as it left the factory) - Clean trousers anyone????

Sorry folks I got that around the wrong way, most WRX's have vented rear.

In Japan they have two type of cars City and Country the city cars normally have less specs.

Yes all STI models will have vented rears.
