Just got Wicked Wheels to come in and fix a kerb mark on one of my alloys.

Been around looking at companies who offer a powder coating service, but Wicked Wheels use a proper 2 part paint system.

They turned up at my house following day, stayed 3 hrs and got my wheel looking absolutely perfect!

Just want to say a huge thanks to John Longstaff who works the Middlesbro / Cleveland area - John you did a tremendous job and you're a top bloke!

How much did they charge you per wheel and exactly what did they do for that?

 

How bad were your wheels to start off with?

 

One wheel was a good kerb job, the other just slight kerb marks.

The guys turned up following day, stayed 3 hours, disappearing into his huge van with all the kit in it - very impressive.

Like I said, 3 hrs he worked on the wheels, grinding / smoothing them down, spray painting, and laquering and the finished article was amazing - not a sign anywhere of any dents / scratches or kerb marks.

£45 per 17" wheel - mine were gold speedlines.

I'm also about to have my Gold Speedlines fixed in two weeks - I finally found a company here in Finland that does it - although it's quite a small company in a very small town...

...Do you know which gold paint they used? How was the final color compared to the original? Does the paint stay ok?

Ari - the paint is a very good match.

Make sure the company you use, doesn't use the powder coating paint technique as the match is very poor.

You could try ringing the telephone numbers above to contact Wicked Wheels and ask which paint it is they use.

Yeah, my wheels were gold speedline 6 spokes.

The match was excellent.

 

Hi all-
anyone able to tell me what "colour" the gold wheels were - my Speedlines are apparently the same as the Renault Williams gold (I was told this last year as I had to get one refurbed)
I now need my kerbed wheel sorted, so whats this about powder-coating etc?

Matthew - like I said in previous posts, you could *try* ringing WickedWheels for the paint code they use.

Powder Coating is a different method entirely to the usual paint the wheels are coated with.

Drawback to powder coating is that its usually not a very good match.

 

Interesting post this for me, as I have 4 gold STI wheels on my car that all need sorting. Wicked Wheels sound fine, just a few quick fire questions if I may:

1. Does the whole wheel get resprayed after repair?

2. Do they patch up/fill where small chunks of wheel are missing after kerbing (the missus, not me, obviously!!)?

3. How do they refit a wheel if it has just been painted? Isn't the paint still soft?

my 4 wheels are just coming off as I type - Wicked Wheels are refurbing.

From what they guiy has told me, he waits for them to dry, and if really deep dents, they will fill with a metal filler. I think he intends to spray the whole wheel, to get around any patchy marks.

Apparently, he has got the exact match paint to use.I'll post later on when the job is done.

Guy finished doing my wheels about 2 hours ago.

Absolutely fantastic finish. I had a number of large-ish kerb marks, and they are all gone now, also had some sctrachs round the rims, and they all gone.

Colour match was perfect, all in all the best monet I've ever spent on the Scoob.

Just have to keep away from the kerbs now

is the guy who did your wheels likely to be the one who covers Worcester, as I want to use WW too soonish. I noted the website/fone number also but not yet contacted them.
What was the cost (not what you told the wife)
