I know of a couple of people running the pagid disc and pads setup, with happy results.

Costs fall around the £300 mark.

I can only tell you the upgrade I did which is amazing results/£.
EBC grooved/dimpled discs and redstuff pads. I ran them in properly and then did a track day when I got through the pads in 2x 20min sessions (I was seeing what they would do) - no warping or other problems.
Tyres Northampton supplied/fitted them £280 all in. Magic !!

I fitted...

Bremsport grooved Gp N discs
Mintex 1155 pads
PE BSB
Goodridge hoses
DOT 5.1 brake fluid.

Total cost was less than £300. This gave stopping power that made my head hurt, and never gave me any brake fade, even on track

Sorry to throw another combination into the pot - Mintex 1155 pads and Black Diamond discs. Very good combination, and not too pricey either.

StanS, "I got through the pads (EBC Reds) in 2 x 20 min sessions... Magic!"

Yeah, that's quite some disappearing act! Why are EBC pads so cheap?

Got discs and pads from TAS, Lines from Autotechnica and BSB from PE.

Not tried Tar-ox myself, but do remember hearing problems with them from someone with an impreza though? Can't remember what, who, why etc though

My advice is try them, if they are no good, or don't last, its a small investment that could pay dividends. Thats what I did with the bremsport discs - had never heard of them, found out that a lot of Gp N Impreza preparers use them so gave them a try - never looked back

I run Pagid 8 groove discs and Pagid blue pads - both very good. Have done Bedford track day and a couple of laps of Nurburg with no fade. Brake feel is good even without fitting braided hoses. I had several comments from my dealer saying how good they felt/stopped. Shop around and should be able to get the dics and pads for under £300. Speak to Jeff at

we're running Tarox grooved disks with EBC greens and they work very well...haven't done any track days in them yet, though CnB is quite quick...
