225/35/18 or 225/40/18 ?

225/35/18 or 225/40/18 ?
I've possibly got the offer of some 18" WRC1 OZ wheels but they have 225/35/18 tyres on them rather than 225/40/18 which is what is recommended for my MY03 WRX.
The wheels have been on a STI at some stage and are now on a P1 so they must be the ET46 offset to go over the Brembo's?
Should 225/35/18 not be used on a MY03 and what effect will the ET46 offset have compared to ET53 which these wheels also come in?
Any help appreciated.
