Question

Hi,
I've got a standard MY00 turbo, it's done 13k miles now (mainly motorway). I had a bit of brake fade the other day after a B road thrash - peddle went soft and it didn't stop as well - and ever since the brakes don't seem as sharp. I've looked at the pads and there appears to be plenty left on them.
Have I cooked something?

Advice appreciated

Richard

You have probably glazed your pads.
Replace your pads or deglaze them.
Grooved disks will stop this from happening again.
It may be an idea to change your brake fluid as well.

Question

Thanks.

How do I deglaze the pads? I was going to do the fluid anyway - is the dealer supplied stuff OK or should I go for something different.

Cool

Personally I'd go for DOT 5.1 but some may disagree.

I deglazed my pads with some emery cloth however I'm not sure if this is the "approved" method.
