Sounds scarily like the 3000's . The dust from the 2000's I find very easy to remove, if it doesn't come off with sponge and water then something is wrong IMO. Worst I've had to do was rub with my finger to remove. Had 3k's once, that was a mare and the wheels had to go off for a refurbish.

Thumbs down

I cleaned the car yesterday and found that the front wheels were caked in brown brake dust that was almost impossible to remove.

The rear wheels were also very brown, though not quite as bad.

Both the front and rear discs also have a brown staining on them - not the shiny surface they were originally.

I've just done a 60 mile drive to work and the wheels are already noticably brown again

I had the Prodrive/Alcon 330mm upgrade and prodrive rear pads put on last week - is this normal? Could I have been given the dreaded DS3000 pads (maybe I'm paranoid!)?

How can I tell which pads I have?

I'll be speaking to my dealer later on...

I agree with Chuck. DS3000's destroyed my discs and front wheels in 4000 miles When I removed a pad for inspection it actually said DS3000 on the back of it but the DS2000 replacements only have a number (not DS2000) that I take to be a Prodrive part number. Get them checked right away before they damage your wheel and paintwork - Prodrive will not entertain claims for damage to non Prodrive/Subaru wheels which has left me having to decide whether to have all 4 refurbished (to keep the colour the same) or replace them with a new set. Either way I am NOT happy and will think twice about buying Prodrive products in future, not because of their quality but because of their attitude

Raymond.
