Chubbs,
Is your dealer fitting your new replacement wheels/tyres. If so, why don't you ask them to offset the cost of your old wheels/tyres.
Like you, most users on the BBS want a different style of wheel to the std ones.
Must admit though, £300-£450 is taking the pi$$. You'll not get the new price for the wheel, unless your very lucky, but £200 per corner would sound about right. You need to consider how much some OZ Super T's or P1-style wheels will cost new.
£150-£200 for the wheel and £100 for a tyre. That's £250-£300 per corner, but for much nicer wheels. Even some MIM's will only set someone back £130 a wheel.
Just my opinion and some friendly advice. Good luck.
Stefan

hi chubbs
what ozzy is saying is correct. the oem tyres on the my01 sti7 are not really the best looking and the bridgestone RE040 are no doubt crap as most oe tyres are. i am not saying that they are worth more at the dealers but what i am saying is that they will be good for track use for me. if i am to spend £200 per corner i would then get the OZ P1 or the supperleggra for this sort of money as they look better and have got this designer name to them. i won't be long before new owners of MY01 start upgrading to 18s and then there will be a lot of these on the BBS. same thing happened with the 16" sti ones. last year i slightly damaged one of the front wheels so i got a new set from the dealer with oem tyres ( ex p1) for 425+vat, if i wanted to buy a single wheel and tyre it would have been over £230 percorner .
i only trying to help. if you don't want my money, i am sure there will be some will to give a little bit more for them but i will be very surprised if you get any where near £700.
