Question

After having my car valeted my ABS light is on and the system no longer functions. Anyone had a similar problem or have any ideas what the cause could be?

The car is a UK spec 99 model.

Might be one of the ABS wheel sensors got knocked or damaged. Do a search on this forum, it has happened before. If you can prove it was the valeters, then they should cough up, if not, the sensors aren't that expensive.

I'd get it checked out by a garage though.

there is a fuse for the main abs relay i think it is in the fusebox inside the car. also you could take the plastic cover off the unit and just check to make sure there is no water inside it.

Remove the rear seat, bottom part,(2x12mm bolts) Check the 2 multiplugs for good connections.the plugs are black i think, they are situated approximately where your bum would be if you had 2 passengers in the back!!! One goes to the n/s wheel speed sensor the other the o/s...
