Regarding the BumpSteer mod.

Is there anywhere more local than Powerstation, as I live in Essex and Cheltenham is a wee bit far to go.

Hoping for a reply

Can anyone recommend a good place in London or SE for getting the Prodrive geometry put on?

Many thanks for the quick reply. Good for me - I'm just south of the balckwall tunnel.

I'm trying to stop my P1 understeering like a pig, or at least finding out if it's juat a crap driver!

Cool

john,

if it's understeering badly then i would suggest you look at getting the bump steer mod done at the same time, it's definitely worth it !!

a lot of people have the geometry done and then later decide to have the mod done, save yourself a few quid and get it done now.

best place by far is powerstation, see

MRK: Not that I know of, as it's a Powerstation "invention".

Steve

Thanx for the recommendation. I've been following the threads on this subject fairly closely, and have already spoken to the boys in Cheltenham, but have decided to do it one step at a time. I was laying it on a bit thick about understeering like a pig in that it's great really compared to merely mortal cars , but on a quiet Sunday drive with the Clang n Ballers it became clear that it could do with something to make it a bit more pointy as it was certainly pushing into wet/icy! roundabouts a bit more than some of the other guys cars.
I'm sure that it would make more sense on a monetary basis to go straight to Powerstation
but, as hundreds of well balanced import owners have said on Scoobynet, P1 owners have no sense in that area anyway.

Just jealous, I guess

John

Fat Boy,
Robinsons of Rochdale set up their P1's with Maximum equal negative camber on the front wheels as STD.

Given that the only additional 'mod' for the Prodrive settings ,if your car hasn't already got it, is 1mm toe in on both the front and rear wheels, why not ask your supplying dealer to check/confirm what your current settings are, as I would excpect them to do that free of charge.

Also what does the handbook specify for the STD settings?
If the STD settings in your handbook are Prodrive (Max equal neg front, 1mm toe in front and rear) then you shouldn't have to pay someone else to put your car back to its factory settings.

Just a thought.

Cheers MTR

Thanx for replies

Dealer (Lancaster Sevenoaks)don't know their ***** from their elbows - nice guys, very helpful, but definitely orientated towards selling lots of the standard product, unlike your Rochdale mates.

Having nosed around their workshop no sign of laser/ sensitive tracking kit, hence my request for a "good" place to get this done.

P1 handbook implies that the car is supplied with standard settings as it states that the owner can , if he so chooses, put the Prodrive settings on - which are helpfully stated in the handbook.

I'd rather pay a bit to make sure that it is set up right.

Jay enjoy the twisty roads, I regularly play around the cotswolds so I'm envious.

Just had mine done at Elite in Rainham, Essex. They charge £49.95 and give you before and after settings.

Had mine done at Mill Lane Basingstoke. Top-spec laser equipment. Cost 40 + VAT. Great service! Ask for Charles and mention Scoobynet.
