Question

Another contender for daft question of the year.

been looking about getting better brakes for the beast.

currently smitten by brembo 4-pot kit that I've read about on scoobysports site.

I see that there is a version for 16 inch wheels and a version for 17 inch wheels.

Here's the daft bit. What's the difference between them? does the 17 version have bigger calipers and therefore bigger discs?

I've got 16 inch speedlines on the beast and thus I'd go for the 16 version. If I got 17 inchers I know I could stay with the 16 version, but can/how do you upgrade to the 17 version? is there an upgrade path from 16 to 17?

hope this makes sense.

Hi Markus

The brakes page is being updated this weekend, with the latest specs of all the brake parts we do.

The Brembo kit is for 16" or 17" wheels (same kit). We also sell the AP 6 pots, but these are for 17" wheels only.

What Speedlines have you got? If it is the 16" Super Turismo, then no aftermarket brakes will fit under this wheel, nor will Subaru 4 pots.

We have Brembo and AP kits in stock.

Thanks Pete,

as to what speedlines they are. Well, that's something I've never really had an answer on.

Have a look at

Yep, they are OK for the Brembo kit.

Thanks Pete!

All I've got to do now is get a bit of cash, and then decide if it want to stay with sixteens and the four pots, or get a set of seventeens and go for the six pot AP. decisions, decisions!

BTW - you any idea of the model name of the wheels on my car? no-one seems to know. i just know they are/were produced for Mim by Speedline.
