Mintex DOT 4 brake fluid
#1
I ahve just received some pads, fluid and hoses from Falkland and am surprised to see that the fluid that they recommended (Mintex C-tech) is only DOT 4. Should I send this back and get some DOT 5.1 from somewhere.

BHORT,
I too got the DOT 4 Mintex C-Tech fluid from Falkland (+pads, hoses, dics... that have warped!!!). The Mintex DOT 4 is better than standard fluid, but after a vigorous thrashing at knockhill I was left with a spongy pedal . Next time I'll be changing to a fully synthetic fluid.
- ColinU.
P.S.
I understand that when changing to fully synthetic fluid the brake system/lines have to be flushed completely clean of the old (non-synthetic) fluid. What is used to flush the system?

ColinU,
Did you get the Black Diamond disks? I decided to go for the Bremsport from TAS and will post my findings after I have had them fitted. By the way what did you pay for fitting.
