2 Pot with Black Diamond and Mintex pads??
#1
I have an STi II with 2 pot calipers.
I was planning on upgrading to 4 pots later this year ( when funds allowed ), however, at my last service the garage told me that my front Discs and Pads urgently needed replacing. The dealer happens to stock Black Diamond Discs (X-Drilled and Grooved) and Mintex pads ( not sure whether 1144 or 1155, they will not tell me ) So they fitted these for me.
The braking from Cold seems to be really good, they really seem to bite, however, one long stop from around 90mph (not on public road, of course ) just seems to completely overheat the pads
What should I do, Richard Grimes has recommended going for DS2000 or even DS3000.
I know a little about the way brakes work, it is all about temperature, of the discs and pads. Surely, if I can find a decent set of pads should the 2 pots not be enough??? What did the 95 Rally team use?
Ian.
