Question

Hi folks,

I am thinking of replacing the 15" wheels on my MY96 with 16" ones from a MY97 or later model, what are the advantages/disadvantages of doing this (apart from looks), will the whell offsets etc. be the same

Stuart

I replaced the 16" wheels on my 1994 WRX with 17" BK with seven spokes - the wheels actually look like 18" once on the car, and I was then able to upgrade the front brakes with bigger discs (Graham Goode in Leicester). Car looks much better, but I understand only a few types of wheel will fit Imprezas.

Sasim,

Wheels from Impreza's from differing years are interchangable - the only consideration being whether you need the additional clearance for 4-pot brake calipers. These are fitted to STi cars and MY99/00 models.

Most Subaru wheels have an offset of 55 which is fairly rare with non-Subaru wheels. Apparently, using wheels for Impreza's with an offset of 45 or more is OK.

Thanks

Gavin
