How to improve MY97 brakes?
#1
What do you guys and gals out there suggest??
Are the 4 pot brakes any better than the MY97 single pots for everyday road use?
Given I don't do any track days, but am looking for a sharper pedal response than I'm currently getting, what do you all suggest?? (hoses, fluid, new rotors, pads, etc)
Advise appreciated...
regards,
Anil

Anil, you will notice a big improvement by going to 4-pots, at least I did. I changed to group N discs, braided lines and synthetic fluid. At the moment I have Mintex 1155 pads which I am pleased with, although I have had to take them out now and again to deglaze them. Pedal feel and stopping power on the road has been very good, far superior to my previous 2-pots.
The Subaru 4-pots occasionaly get bad press, but I was recently spectating on the Robin hood rally, and briefly spoke to one of the leading competitors, Dave Wood, driving a group A Impreza. He had Subaru 4-pots on, and said they were fine [ he was using Pagid blue pads], and he eventually finished 3rd! so they cant be that bad.

Dave Wood drives the Beechdale group N Impreza and was using Subaru 4 pots, because that's the best you are allowed to use in group N. Pagid blues are about as good as you can get for gravel, but group N teams use Pagid Blacks for tarmac (carbon ceramic).
Dave is a seriously fast driver in an Impreza, but was a bit too big to be quick in my kart team at the Autosport show
