18 inch wheels look great on the car, but you will need to run very low profile tyres.

This means the ride quality can be very harsh on anything but the smoothest roads.

Great for track use though, but tyres for 18 inch wheels are very expensive (£150 - £200 each!).

On typical UK A and B roads (ie bumpy, with lots of changes in camber), the car can feel very nervous, and be prone to tramlining. Be very wary of potholes!

There are quite a few cars out there with them fitted, so there's no real problem with them (as long as you get the correct offset so they don't rub on the rear arches). It's really up to yourself on how hard a ride you are prepared to endure.

Hi Woody,

Further to what John posted, In my experience 18" wheels are WAY too harsh for a scoob, even on a smooth race track. And there have been some problems with the wheel/tyre hitting the inner arch.

Prodrive thought about fitting 18" wheels to the P1, but found that the car was unbearably uncomfortable and very difficult to drive, so they didn't bother, even for the upcoming WR Sport range they are doing for the car (although they might yet change their minds )

Also, Scoobysport don't sell 18", only 17" wheels for the same reason.

Most Scooby owners plump for 17" wheels, and there are not THAT many on 18" that I have seen.

Anyone care to differ on my humble Professional Instructor/Driver's opinion??

Cheers,

Rob
