Prodrive pads
Hi, i'm thinking of getting the Prodrive upgrade pads fitted by my dealer. Anyone had these fitted, wre they worth it or should I just get the standard pads.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Oh yes indeedy, big difference! From barely adequate, to nearly excellent, depending on model year (ie 2-pots or 4-pots). I tried both and there was just no way I felt comfortable with the standard pads - Mintex 1155s are miles better. However, I have just bought a set of Pagid 'Blues' for the fronts but have not fitted them yet.
If you only have the 2-pot calipers (ie pre-MY99) I would strongly recommend a set of second-hand 4-pots from a MY99 or STi that has been upgraded, along with steel hoses and DOT 5 fluid - this really is the best budget setup, and the increase in overall braking ability is much improved.
PS. Mintex pads produce A LOT of dust !!!!

Thanks Tony the mintex pads it is then. By the way its a MY99. Will probably do the other suggested upgrsdes as well.
After that its a scooby downpipe and middle pipe.
The standard pads are hardly dust free.
Cheers Pete.

Power Engineering do a nice steel braided hose kit for a very reasonable £60-ish, for next day delivery.
BTW, if you fit a ScoobySport (or any other) downpipe, you WILL invalidate your warranty - this is the only thing stopping me from getting one. Back boxes are OK though.
