Thumbs down

Sometimes when I've been driving about, I come to a halt (as one does!), and select reverse, the brakes make a clonking noise when I apply them. Ever heard this?

If I pump the brake pedal a few times, the
noise gradually lessens and goes away.

Servo related? Something I should get checked out or do they all do this?

IT may well be the pads moving in the caliper as you move the car in the opposite direction to its normal direction of travel the pads could well be moving just a very small amount in the caliper.

Hi.

Yep. Mine does this as well. As you say, only when applying the brakes when reversing. Sounds like it's coming from the fronts. As my MY97 did not do this, I'm assuming it's something to do with the bigger 4 pots at the front. What, I don't have a clue.
