Brake Pad Prices
#1
Hi,
I'm looking at replacing my front pads when I put the car in for service. How much should I pay for a set of replacement pads of types;
(1) Std Impreza
(2) Mintex 1144
(3) Mintex 1155
(4) Pagid
Which is best (Ooo, cue long thread...) and should I change the rears as well ?
cheers
Andy

Hi Ian,
It's a 98MY Terzo (not that that makes a difference !). I want pads that will work straight away when you press the pedal and don't have "warm up"
cheers

Hi Ian,
I meant I don't suppose it matters if it's a MY98 or a MY98 Terzo ! So, back to the plot... I've just phoned Pagid and you are indeed right - only up to MY97 apparently. So it'll be Mintex then.
cheers

I thought the brakes were identical between the MY97 and MY98 models, so how come Pajid pads can be had for a MY97 but not a MY98?
I haven't tried Mintex pads, but previous discussions have suggested that they take a little warming up before giving you optimum braking performance. I am using Pajid pads (on STi 4-pot calipers) and am very pleased with their performance.
