Talking STi Brembo replacement pads - what are you using?

As the title? What aftermarket pads are you running (I doubt anybody has replaced their pads with OE ones? ). What are they like for wear, noise (at low and high speed), dust deposits, stopping power/fade resistance and if possible, what are they like on track?

Anyone?

Cheers,

Matt

Pagid yellows. No experience with the STi disks, but work very well on Porsche GT3 set-up.

Due to the fact that I've heard nothing bad about the 2500s and many people rate them, added to the fact that they are much cheaper than the Pagid 42-1s (which seem to be the other most popular pad), I went for the 2500s.

Richard, a respected friend of mine who's job is working on braking and traction control systems does not recommend the Yellows as he was getting pad transfer issues on the Ring. This put me off choosing them TBH!

Thanks guys,

Matt

Default Apologies in advance

Forgive my ignorance....but you can fit 3rd party brake pads?

I have an 02 STi 7 with Brembos and have been petrified about the alleged £270 worth of brake pads. (Quote from David Hendry - Malmesbury).

This was just one of the elements that has prompted me to go sniffing around a new Civic Type-R.

ie lowering running costs is my agenda.

for most road cars we are supplying either ds2500 or Pagid rs4.2.1 (better all round pad though is more expensive!!).....................after that you are into more "track" type options..........................
however, mostly all cheaper than the subaru offerings of any description!!!!!!!!!!

Using Pagid 4.2.1 front and rear in my STI7, big improvement over standard pads although they do squeal a little at low speeds, but I am sure this could be reduced with a bit of copper grease in the right place.
IMO a little bit of occasional brake noise is small price to pay for the vastly improved braking performance, quite surprised by how much difference the Pagids made, and I don't have Goodridge lines and still using original brake fluid. Pagids were well worth the money.

Currently using Pagid Rs421's on STi8. Definately better than standard kit but I get a lot of squeal off them, although this goes if u take them out and give them a good clean. Unfortunately I seem to have to keep doing this every 2K miles or so which is a pain Didn't have to do this with the DS2500's I had with the AP kit on my last Scoob.

Haven't tried them on the track yet but they feel like a pad well suited to track use as they definately get better the more u work them.
