Brake upgrade?
#1
I`m looking into purchasing the following brake set up:
Front Discs: Vented, Group N
Pads: Ferodo DS Compounds
Goodridge Hose Kits
Set up is going to cost approx £350 without fitting.
Has anyone had any experience of this upgrade? What do you think about it?
Or had anyone else bought a brake upgrade for the same price and can recommend it?
Cheers in advance.

Hi BlairC
In the process of looking for new front discs and brakes for my MY99.
The Ferodo pads (DS2500) are supposed to be some of the best around.
Have you been to http://www.scoobysport.co.uk/brakes.htm they have some good prices on Group N Pagid stuff, which are also very respected.
Thinking about going that route myself but dont want to spend £1K+ on 6-pot stuff.
Good luck.

Hi
Had the Pagid Group N+ fitted by TSL nearly 2 years ago. Also had the goodridge hoses done as well. Took a while to bed in but absolutely superb and much better than the std setup (MY2000 classic)
Now got to get new front pads and looking for the best prices for the DS2500's!

Have any of you lads considered going for larger rotors with seperate alloy bells using the original calipers? When I upgraded my own MY99, I looked at the Group-N option, but I was put off by the single disc.
One of my reasons for considering larger kits were the seperate disk/bell setup and the reduced risk from warping.
The initial outlay is a bit expensive, but the replacement cost of discs is a whole lot cheaper.
I went for the Godspeed kit myself and have been very happy with it. It gives you another alternative and something between small Group-N discs and larger 335mm rotors.
I am however not all that impressed with the DS2500 pads. The seem a bit soft for my liking and will probably try something different in the next few months.

P.s. Ian @ Godspeed does some std size replacement discs (grooved, drilled, etc..), so that's another option for you.
