Got a seized rear brake due to not being moved for a week and left out in sh1ty weather.

Whats the best way to release it - have tried rocking and it is not having any of it.

If it's gone past the point where rocking will release it, then it'll probably need dismantling!

Is it the pads, or the handbrake mechanism??
If it's 'just' the pads it's not too awkward, if it's the handbrake it's more difficult!
The only way to tell, is to watch the wheel when you or someone else tries to move the car gently, if the disc moves at-all then it's the handbrake, if not then more than likely the pads!

Thanks for the reply Ron sorted it last night.

I didn't realise there is a drum that the handbrake operates inside the hub and disc. Quick tap with the hammer and it all came free After dismantling the entire caliper

But at least it is sorted now
