Question

Have read on ScoobyNet before that it is sometimes a good idea to swap the two front wheels and tyres with the back two to get even wear on all four tyres.
As my Goodyear tyres are about half way through their life span I thought now be a good time to do this.
My question is, can I just swap the front two wheels for the rear or will they need to be rebalanced and the tracking adjusted.
Any advice would be great because I don't have much of a clue.
Thanks

Unless the wheels were balanced on the car as some places do, it should be no problem.

The car may feel a little different initially because of differnt wear characteristics front and rear, but will eventually settle down.

Thumbs up

Brandy,
Its normally at service time when its best to swap your tyres around (and easiest). You shouldnt need to rebalance or have the tracking done again for swapping tyres front to rear as they should have been balanced properly in the first place.
I would have the tracking checked at one of these places that does free checking if your worried (I use to get the car tracked every year to be on the safe side).

It's my view, for what it's worth, that it accelerates the tyre wear. Others may be more qualified to comment but my thought is that the change of position on the car must make the tyre "wear in".
