Most people fit 215/40/17 which have similar rolling radius. More tyres are available in this size - e.g. Toyo, Goodyear, Bridgestone.

I bought Neros recently in 205/55/16, once they'd scrubbed in they feel really good.

I did have a couple of sideways moments on roundabouts to start with but now they release agent has worn off they're great. Very predictable and lots of feedback.

Most people on here won't touch Avon tyres with a barge-pole. That may have been their ZZ1s, but once bitten thrice shy...

Buy the ZZ3's in my opinion they are the best tyre i've fitted to my MY01, the Toyo's are useless in damp conditions and i would say the original Bridgestone rubber apart from tramlining was better than the Toyo cr#p

I find the idea of avoiding Avon because of the ZZ1 a bit odd. My car came with rock-hard Bridgestones, but when they finally died I replaced them with the S-02PP which was a brilliant tyre. Every manufacturer makes a range of tyres, some are good and some are bad.

There's a couple of good reports on the ZZ3 in True Grip this month, and I've just had a set fitted to my own car. I'll report back when they've had chance to scrub in properly.

Had ZZ3's on my old mondeo and once warmed up, they were a grippy tyre both in wet and dry conditions...

Cheaper than Goodyear F1's, which is why they were bought, it was only a Mondeo!!

Dont have the performance of the Goodyear but, a good all-rounder IMO...

Cheers,
Grant
