17x7.5JJ with 225/45R17 tyres fit a MY99 classic

I think you need 205x40 x 17 tyres, but the wheels WILL fit, and they look good!!

Std classic tyres size should be 205/45/17 or 215/40/17

The wheels should fit but as stated above he tyres are not the right size for a classic, though lots of people have run them without problems.

Yes,

tyres are absolutely no use on a classic, as they are too wide, and will badly foul the rear arches.

Use either 205/45x17 or 215/40x17 no the wheels and you will be fine.
