ABS problem

I have just fitted suspension from a STi V5 and 2 pots to my sport.
I did the suspension first, but after this the ABS light came on in the dash. When the light is on the brakes work fine, but when the light is off, at speeds of 0-5mph only, when the brakes are used there is a grinding/whining noise and the pedal goes soft then harder again.
Any ideas??????
Have cleaned ABS sensors etc.
