Question

if one has an offset of 55mm then that is a positive expression of how far towards the face of the wheel the mounting plane is from the centerline of the wheel, correct?

i.e. if i was to have a lower value offset eg 47mm then that would have the net effect of moving the face of the wheel out from the body of the car like a spacer, correct?

or have i got it the wrong way round ie a lower offset will move the face of the wheel further into the body of the car?

ta in advance.
