uprated brake pads for reduced dust
#1
What uprated front pads are best to slightly enhance stopping power and the best to reduce brake dust when compared to standard pads?
I was thinking to put Ferodo DS2500 pads with my standard front discs and was wondering if another make (Mintex, Pagid etc) were better to run with standard discs.
I know, I know I should go for an AP 6-pot 2000 Euroe upgrade but I barely ever drive that hard and do't need the ultimate stopping power....
So, only comments about front pads please, thanks.

Don't worry I'm another who simply doesn't need AP 6-pots. They're mostly fitted by bling, bling rice boys anyway
I found the Ferodo DS2500's dusty; certainly much more than my OE pads. I've heard Mintex can be just as dusty too.
Never used Pagid and I'm sure John Felstead mentioned the new EBC pads producing very little dust in his review.

Thanks ozzy,
so how do the DS2500 perform on the standard discs?
Reason I ask is because DS2500 fronts are cheaper than OE pads.
If they create more dust, but give that little extra in braking, I can live with that.
Strangely enough the DS2500 rear pads are much more expensive than the fronts...
Tks,
Ramon

Hi,
Sorry, but I can't say how they perform on their own as I upgraded the disc to the 335mm Godspeed ones at the same time. Never had them fade yet.
Yeah, tell me about the rears. God only knows why they are so expensive.
I just went for some Kevlar ones on the front and have had no balance issues. If I did some trackdays, I'd consider fitting some Mintex rear pads.
