Question

I'm looking at buying a set of 4 17" Speedline Turinis to go over my new 4 pot Brembo brakes. Should I splash out the extra money and get an extra wheel in case I have puncture, cos I know the 15" spare wheel will not fit over these brakes, or should I rely on a can or 2 of tyre weld-type foam? Will a 17" wheel even fit in the boot!!

IIRC people have done this and put some extra padding/foam in the boot to allow for the raised alloy in the boot.

I still have the space saver in my boot, if i get a puncture on the front i'll change it for one on the rear and then put the space saver on the back - pain in the 4rse i know, but if you have a spare 17" alloy, chances are the tyre on it will be directional anyway.

Now why didn't I think of that?! Thanks for saving me £250 - maybe now I can justify 18s......

Cool

The money I saved not buying a 5th alloy was certainly put to good use this afternoon - my scooby now has a tasty set of 18" gold OZ Prodrive wheels with Toyo tyres for a VERY reasonable price from Wheelbase in Oldham

Possibly a daft question- why change the wheels round and put the space saver on the back?

Cheers

sorry forgot to mention

My car is an MY98, which came with 2 pots as standard. i now have 4 pots.

the space saver in the boot doesnt fit over the 4 pots (it's for MY98 2 pots), hence why i have to swop around

>>> do i get a commission then ?

Chris, I'd offer you a discount off my old Prodrive/Speedline Chrono's but as they won't fit over 4 pots (which is why I changed them) I doubt you'd be interested!
