Ok chaps, i have been quoted some ridicuous figure for a replacement CV joint for my 98 UK turbo £170 plus fitting


does anyone know where i can get one at a reasonable price?

You could buy a driveshaft from breaker... ~70quid maybe, then just fit it.

Thanks for that Moray. Grade A subaru sell them for £40 complete, only thing is you never know how many miles or how much hammer its had

The garage re assembled the car and it seems to have gone away for now, having said that... this morning i thought i heard the noise again

Ho hum, looks like its a genuine Subaru part then [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Had this problem myself got quoted £880 + fitting for new drineshafts & inner CV joints & outer CVs for both sides on my Legacy GT. Eventually found 2 specialist suppliers who seemed to know what they were talking about & got rebuilt units at £150 per side & got my local garage to fit. Cannot remember names but were found by looking in Exchange & Mart & searching on internet. One supplier was in Midlands but other was in Barnsley I believe. If I find names will post for you.
