Question

Just had my Scooby 90k serviced and the brake pads need changing, but the garage I took it to (a recommended performance car garage) seemed to be unable to tell me what pads can be put on.

The model is a European Impreza GT 99, with what looks like the Prodrive brakes upgrade. I don't know enough about this, but the calipers are marked Prodrive, so I don't know if there's more than one set or size.

Can anyone please give me hints on how to find out, or what pads will fit, so I can get them and not need to rely on the garage who seem to continually lose my phone number...

Thanks in advance,
Rory

Sounds like you've got the Alcon set-up, any Subaru dealer can supply the pads, or, there are a few brake suppliers on here that'll be able to help!!

the "prodrive" pads are mostly supplied by Ferodo and can be sourced at more competitive prices if you miss out the dealer!!!
the other option that we have had a lot of good results with would be a Pagid material.........
all at offered with better value for money........

Unhappy

Had a few cars in recently all UK 99's and 2 out of 3 were different from standard.......

Shocked, I was horrified.......if you mail me a picture of the rear pad I'll match it to a part number

Well, after a lot of looking around, (or actually looking at receipts that came with the car...) I found out I have the Prodrive 330mm upgrade on the front and standard on the back.

So, with that in mind, what pads would any out there recommend for both?

I've changed brake pads on other cars before and I'm assuming that it isn't an overly complex job either, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks.

as my above post.........it is fairly straightforward with this caiper, so if you have some mechanical ability you should have no probs.........
if you need any advice or prices then feel free to email me as "scoobynet" gets a little touchy over prices......
