Whats the difference between Pagid RS4.2 and RS4.2.1 pads.
Looking at upgrading my front brakes on MY99 4pot.
Just a little confused about the different types of pads?

RS42.1 is Pagid's fast road pad, RS42 is Pagid's gravel rally pad. Both work well from stone cold, but the 42.1 are quieter and more suited to a road car.

the main difference being the temperature range that these pads can withstand.........do many hard track days and the 4.2.1's will be overcooked (the "blues" may also if your 'hard' on brakes)
the 4.2 also offers more all round friction.......
if your after any advise on the pads that would be most suited to yourself then feel free to mail me........

Thanks for the quick replys.
Will be going for the RS4.2.1 as i can't stand squeaky brakes and it will literally be only one track day in the lifetime of these pads. Well that is until the track day bug bites really bad.

Thanks for the advice

Danny, the RS4-2's don't squeel much. I have them and rate them as excellent. I did a track day at Croft with them as well and they never faded at all.

Fitted Pagid 8 groove disks and RS4.2 (blue Pads) Yesterday. Approx
1/2 Hr each side to change pads and disks. Have to run them in for couple hundred miles, straight out of the box far better initial bite to my brakes on a MY01 WRX. Ps I upgraded to goodridge s/s hoses all round couple months ago.

As i don't do track days this was the best option to give good all round stopping power. Have to say no sqeaking yet (done 70Mls)
