I personally don't rate 1144 or 55's on the front of anything.

I've been waiting for feedback from anyone testing 1153's and along comes John Ringmeister Felstead, Yipee.
Mintex 1153's were originally developed as a modified 1166 compound to suit MGF cup racing, offering good all round performance, longer lasting with less harshness.

Mail me if you want a set delivered @£35 (AP4pots cp5000 or cp5200 using cp3215 pads).

Cheers, Stuart

Are these pads suitable for general road use? The opinion when I did a search was quite divided, although they all agree they produce **** loads of dust.

Craig.

I've used 1155s several times - they are ideal for fast road use and even trackdays. If you don't drive that hard, 1144s will probably be sufficient, but 1166s are unsuitable for road use, unless of course you're an absolute lunatic ! They do produce lots of dust, and tend to squeal more than other brands I've tried, but that may be due to incorrect fitment.

Hope this helps,

Tony

i use 1155 on the rear, 1153 on the front, they work very well as a road pad.

Same as John 1155's for the rear and 1153's for the AP fronts.

Nice balance!

Hammy - you'll be getting yours from the same place as I am then?

Yes Russell, i'm sure J.F. also does too.

I now only have pre bedded-in pads left (as-new thickness).
They're £27 delivered just to make Dave feel even more comfortable!

1177, 1166 & 1153's in forsale forum

Cheers, Stuart

1155's - awful - squeal like a pig all the time and eat the rear disks!

Never again - Think I'll try the Ferodo's

Have just fitted Ferodo Ds2500's all round, after having Mintex - much prefer them to Mintex, which squealed and produced droning noises when braking on some road surfaces

My Ferodo 2500's have just bedded in after about 300 miles - quiet as standard but much more bite from cold and no fade no matter how much stick I have given them on the road - standard pads just faded away after a couple of hard dual carriageway /roundabout runs! Very impressed so far .....
