Welcome to Scoobynet
The advantage of both is in the reduced tyre wall flex and the look
17"s look good but 18"s look better (IMHO), but you will sacrifice some of the ride comfort the bigger you go!
The bigger the tyre the more expensive they are!!!!
18" wheels tend to work out heavier, so make the suspension work harder over the bumps.
I think 17"s are a good compromise between looks and comfort, and the tyres are more resonable, but if you don't mind the reduced ride comfort and you are doing it for the look go for 18"s
Keep the tyre size to "215" widths to avoid rubbing.

Definately go for the 18's. We've got the BK 238's in silver and they look great. We have gone for the 215-35/18 Toyo Proxis T1-S which grip very well. We didn't notice much difference in the ride quality, well not to the extent we we're told before we got them by wheel suppliers. Only one downside with these wheels, watch out for the kerbs, the rim sticks out about 4-5 mm and we've managed to kerb all 4 so far.
