Here's my query folks:-
Are 225x35x18 the widest tyre that can be fitted to 8 x 18 wheels without any fouling? Any cars I've seen with these look as if the tyres are not wide enough for the rim and offer no protection (latest generation tyres have a protective bead which seems to protect the rim better).
IMO the 7.5 x 18 OZ Leggeras offered by Prodrive don't look as good on the new age Scooby as they don't fill out the arches fully.
What is the reqd offset to clear the Brembo calipers?
cheers

The correct profile of tyre for MY01> is 40 series so 225/40 x 18 in this case.........
Prodrive don't offer Super Leggeras as an option though. It's a different kind of OZ wheel that they supply. (Same as originally fitted to the P1 in fact)
I have an MY01 WRX and mine has 8x18 Super L's with 225/40 x 18 tyres and they look fine.
If you are buying from a dealer, then you'll need wheels that are specifically designed for the STi,as you say they have a larger offset to clear the Brembos. If you want Super L's then you will need 19in ones to clear the calipers!!
Hope this helps?
