DS2500 pads - best price and where from?
#1
Hi there
Need to replace my FRONT pads (UK MY00 Classic 4-pots).
Got DS2500s at the moment and very happy with them.
Subaru dealers sell these for 140+VAT, TSL quoted 120+VAT. Do you know where I can get them cheaper? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Andrei

No problem.
got the price of their web site, but I suppose a call would sort things out.
Mods must be sleeping after the NBO - when they wake - Off we go to the brakes section

I'm also looking for these front and rear - not much cheaper than the AP jobs though!
For the possible savings I'll probably be speaking to Scoobymania in the near future as its not worth the hassle factor to save £10 say

You can't argue with £126!!
Could beat that (and make a loss). Have beaten Scoobymania in the past (std rears) but <£126, sod that!
The way the pricing works is simple (not taking in to account greedy stockists):
1. The initial cost from Ferodo is mainly to do with worldwide quantities, example of UK main supplier list prices (DS2500):
MY99/01 rears FCP1333 £114.13+Vat
MY99/01 fronts FCP986 £123.02+Vat
Wilwood 4/6 piston FRP501 £66.61+Vat
The high demand (in the USA) FRP501 pads are 5x's the size (friction material volume) of the tiny (low supply) std rear pads but end up costing alot less!
2. Stockists that buy in bulk get larger discounts and most are offering them cheaper as a result.
Andrei, I thought you went for AP's or summut else?
Cheers, Stuart
