Brake Pads
#1
Looking to change my brake pads on the front. Is the job easy enough, is there anything I should look out for prior to starting. The system is a std '98 4-pot Scooby caliper/pads. The disc looks worn,i.e there is a ridge made by the pads wearing, what is the limit before renewal on the disc, as far as I am aware the disc's are original with 62,000 miles.
Whilst on the subject, are the rears a DIY change or dealer only, Cheers.

Simple,
if you're looking at changing just the front pads, there's a spring clip that stops the retaingpins coming outm remove that and then push the pins out, the if you can't get the pads out try pushing them away from the discs slightly, then you should be able to remove them, if you want to do the discs, then you'll need to unbolt the caliper, there are two bolts holding it on,. undo them and the caliper comes off, the disc will then fall off.
Refitting is the reverse of removal!
ps, don't know the caliper torque, I do mine 'tight'
