Handbrake adjustment..............HOW???

to take up any slack in the cable use the adjuster in the above picture.

to adjust the hand brake pads remove the rubber grommet on the rear backing plates of the disc/drum and use a screwdriver,IIRC it is arrowed on the back plate. it is best to lift the rear wheels off the ground so that you can spin the wheel, so that you do not take them up too much.

I'd .like to adjust the handbrake, but can't see how to, looks like I might have to take the whole car apart,

I was flicking through my manual earlier and it mentioned an adjustment bolt under the handbrake lever?

You don't say what MY you have, but for a MY99/00 UK car you can see the adjustment bolt on this pic.
