Question

I shall be fitting a new set of 17" wheels and tyres in about 2 weeks, the originals have done about 12k and still have about 3mm in the centre, however inside edges of the rears are almost bald !, I'm assuming they've come off the front at some point in the past, as the fronts seem to be wearing similar,
Is it worth getting the geometry checked prior to getting the new ones fitted or after ? if so where (Farnborough Hampshire area)? the car is going in for a service at main dealer in 3 weeks should I pay for them to do ? or go to another place near me ?

try micheldevertyres

It's just off the A303 between Popham airfield and Bullington cross (or basingstoke and andover) signposted Micheldever Station (approx 20 mins from Farnborough).

They did the prodrive settings on my MY98. 4 wheel Laser alignment etc etc

unless the geometry is completely out by curbing etc it sounds like you have the prodrive settings on your car which helps the handling but also has a tendancy to eat the inside of the tyres.I have the settings and a few mates have and we all have the same problem but it makes a good difference as it makes the car under steer a lot less.
