Question

Looking at 18" OZ Super Legs. What is the correct width/offset as I am about to purchase a set which are 18 x 8 with a 52 offset I believe.

Also would these weigh less than the standard 17"

Cheers

Thanks Disco, anyone have any idea how this compares to a standard wheel.

I guess once the car arives I can way the new wheels and once I swap them round can way the standard ones.

Better make sure there is the same amount of air in them as this could affect the weight

Question

Dave are you 100% on that. Wendy told me that because they were 8 inch wide and not 7.5 and a different offset they would fit.

I have tried SuperL's on my STI UK and they would not go on, unless these are a different spoke design that was not available at that time they will not fit.

Andy, OZ only produced a limited number of the 8" wide wheel which could fit the STi, the normal Super legs as supplied for the WRX is a 7", but now the demand has come back OZ are going to start making the 8" wide wheel for the STi only thing is there is a delivery time of 16 weeks.

Well.....I know from comments posted on here last year the 18" SL's available then would NOT fit, if they have recast them then maybe they *do* now fit.

I'd just say tread very carefully - just because they are now 1" wider this means absolutely nothing regarding fit - it's spoke *shape* not width or offset that dictates caliper clearance - they would have to recast the spokes with more clearance on the back to ensure they clear.

Try and get someone from the OZ importer to put you an assurance they will fit in writing before purchasing.....

Brian, thanks for that I have seen those wheels and they look the dogs only thing is when I ask T&C how much for a set they wanted £1800 so I told them to go and whistle. T&C must be the worst dealer for discounts, we buys two cars from them and this is what the come up with. To make it worse I spoke to a friend who was down at Fiskens test driving the STi and they said they would do them for £1500.

Dave, I am dealing with Scooobyworld about the wheels and Wendy was certain they would fit. I had my concerns, but she said there was no problem if they didn't as I could send them back. After speaking to Wendy on Friday I was so pleased to find someone with a genuine interest in her customers. I guess it may boil down to testing them on the car, I'll give her a call on Monday and see what I can find out.

Marc,

£1800 is the list price including tyres. If you shop around then you can buy them for less, especially if you source the tyres yourself.

Me I like the gold wheels that Brian has, but also the Bright Flitter (anthracite) ones that Jools has (same style). If I had the money available, I'm not sure which colour I'd opt for. The 7 spoke design would make them very easy to keep clean though!

Hi John, yeah I like Brian and Jules wheels and your right about cleaning them. Hopefully meet up with all you guys once we have got our cars.

I'll shop around and see what I can get in the way of wheels.

I'm not thread jacking but what is the offset of the standard STI7/8 wheels. I'm looking at putting some on a WRX wagon but all sites are saying sedan only. If they are +51 - +53 then they should be fine as long as the tires are 215 instead of 225, right!

Anyone know if they will or will not fit a 02 WRX Wagon??

Can someeone please confirm the offset of the STI7/8 wheels. I have heard they are +53 and +45. I thinking the +45 because of the Brembo brakes but they could still be +53 as with the GC STI
