Question about spare wheel

HI all
just looking for a bit of help really
I have 17" PD7's on my MY00 and a crappy space saver in the boot
I also have a 16" spare alloy in the garage
Which is the better option should I get a puncture, or should I really look for a spare PD7 ?
long term i will get another PD7, but what is my best option in the mean time, space saver or 16" alloy
