What type of brake fluid do you use to top up the reservoir? I have no idea whats in there at the moment.

Also the reservoir has gone down about 2 cm since April is this normal?

if its dropped this much you really need to check your pads!!
if you aren't sure of original fluid buy a general "dot4" and this will mix quite happily with whatevers in there
