Question

Hi everyone!,

Just picked up my first Scooby (from Mellow Yellow aka Chris @ Scoobyscene, well recommended!!!) and after one weeks driving heaven would like some help/advice.

I am the proud owner of a 96WRX and due to my driving style would like to upgrade my brakes to 4pot numbers from the later models with some steel pipes etc.

Can anyone tell me what i need (as i haven't any DIY knowhow) and how much it might cost? or what might be a good setup etc.

Thanks

mkyboy

PS Hope to see you all at the northern meet in a few Sundays.

I'm looking for the same set up mate. Godspeed come highly recommended and I've been told to go for the 325mm four pot kit. Includeds callipers 325mm discs and pads for £676.00. Braided hoses are an extra £45.00 or so and a change to 5.1 fluid should see you right.

I think Alcazar has this and has raved about it. Just trying to get the money together!!!

Ian Godney will give you some expert advice on godspeed@ukonline.co.uk.

Thanks RLE

I'll give godspeed a buzz!

PS Would this make my already silly insurance go up?

PPS Any other setup ideas out there?

Hi

Make sure the 4pots will fit under your 16" wheels first!!

I have a MY95 WRX which came with 16" wheels, best described as a twin bladed five spoke design. These do not fit over the OE 4pots or indeed the Godspeed 308 kit Even some 17" wheels don't fit over. So I bought 2 sets of 16" wheels from the later models (MY98 on) that definately fit

Post a pic of your wheels and hopefully you can find out.

That's the kit I got, alright, BUT: I do have '01 17" alloys fitted.
Still love the brakes though, my insurance were not interested when I told them, they just made a note of it. (Liverpool & Victoria)
