Am in the same situation as you (still...)

The 4 pots don't fit these wheels, but if you can find some RB5 wheels (or the Jap variant in gold) then these look a bit like the wheels you have, and will fit the 4 pots

I'll either do this or find some Speedline Turinis (more like the P1 wheels) when I get some cash together after the house expenses...

Yep. Just spotted this part:

Kits include discs and pads for the front wheels, 4 Goodridge brake lines and Silkolene brake fluid.
I might still consider it, typical though as it's my back discs that actually need changing!

Question

I have scoured the archives but unfortunately I don't know the name of these wheels - they are 17" and the have Speedline/SL1214 and Prodrive (centre cap) written on them.

Please tell me I don't need spacers for 4-Pots!

Cheers mate. So it appears they wont fit - bugg*r! Good job I hadn't actually bought a set yet then

Has anyone fitted 4-Pots using 7mm spacers? Is this safe or will it affect........things?!

Jamie,

If you can find 7mm spacers your a better man than i am. I had these wheels for two years (just changed to Prodrive ST2s) and in that time i couldn't get any. My last option was to get them specially made. I'd say your best bet would be to leave them alone and choose a different wheel if you want 4/6 pots.

I quite like the wheels so I think I'll stick with them and try to upgraded the brakes another way.
If I'm keeping the 2-Pots would uprated discs, pads and hoses be sufficient for road use on a mildly tuned scoob? Anyone taken this route and have recommendations for specific products/parts?

Cheers,
J

While i had my Prodrive Superturismos on i changed to EBC turbo groove discs and green stuff pads. These were quite cheap and gave a noticeable improvement, but warped after less than a year!

I thought the same as you and loved my old wheels, didn't want to change them. It took two years nearly but i eventually worked out that the 2 pot brakes weren't up to what i wanted them to do (brake ), however if you don't want the expense of new wheels and 4 pots i'd get uprated pads, discs, fluid and hoses. Scoobysport do that lot as a kit (using Pagid products), give them a try. It'll definately improve things.

I can reccommend the Pagid upgrade for the road I've been running their 8 groove discs and FR pads for 2 years now - the last year with braided lines and 5.1 fluid which improves the feel no end. Well worth it, but if you plan going on track they are not good enough.

Thumbs up

Just had a look at the Scoobysport kit and it looks like a good compromise, allowing me to keep my wheels.
Am I right in thinking this kit is £352, including front/rear discs/pads/hoses and fluid? That seems quite good value or is that price just for the front kit

Thanks, J

That's just the front unfortunately. I think it is anyway.
