4800 miles, and the front brakes still insist on squeaking when cool just prior to coming to a rest. What is the cure for this annoying squeal ?

Forget it. My Brembos with Piagid pads (MY01 JDM STI RA) are still sounding like a bus while coming to a gentle stop. 25000kms already. Its the price to pay for performance items.

RT,

I disagree. My AP 4pots with Mintex 1155's never squeeked once and yet both the standard brakes on my MY00 and the Brembo's on my STi both squeek (mainly though when reversing).

If I had to guess, I would say that the pad compound used in the STi's is a cost compromise.....

My MY99 NEVER squealed in 33,000 miles, except the rear discs in hot weather in reverse. The calipers are the same on the front, whats going on ?

Try Ferodo DS2500. No sound whatsoever.
