Are these any good.
I need a couple of new tyres for my motor.
I rang Elite in Rainham and they reccommended Toyo`s.
Does anyone have any experiences with Toyo.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Biff

Have had Toyo's since March. Much better than the Bridgstones.

Have a ring round as you can probably get them cheaper somewhere other than Elite.

I am never that sure about Elite as they take your car so you cannot see what they are doing. I am not having a dig but I would much rather see how the tyres are being taken off/put on.

I'll back that 100%.... toyos fitted on 16s at the weekend and only 200 miles on so not fully bedded in yet but absolutely take the p*ss out of the previous Bridgestone SO3's.
£294.80 including VAT and delivery (delivered on time..!) from mytyres.net for 4 x 205/50 x 16W

SiPie - You at Jim Dickson's on Saturday? I was having my first set of Toyos fitted. All I can say is OH MY GOD

What a transformation from the standard RE011s!!

Driving is far more pleasurable.

Not me Gamm... got them fitted in Penicuik.

BUT must agree with you 100%. I was trying to cast my mind back to when the SO3's were brand new.... but these are different class and not nearly as harsh a ride as the SO3's...

Cheers

Just completed my 50th mile on a new set of 215/45/17 Toyo's.... so not much to say other than....

THEY ARE LOADS NOISIER THAN THE OEM TYRES ON THE MOTORWAY

Bet they grip a lot better in another 150 mile though!!!!!

I'd still replace the bridgestones with 'em if they cost more but as they are a lot cheaper...no contest.

Sounds really odd as the Toyos I have put on are silent in comparison to the SO3's.....? Running slightly lower pressures with the Toyos but taht still shouldn't account for so much of a noise difference.
Also... they stopped the brutal tramlining I was having with the SO3's.

The other thing ive noticed is......

They look WICKED - loads more menacing tread than the OEM's.

Tramlining has disapeared!!!

Nice grip after my first set of proper corners...!!!

Scoobyworld are doing a special offer on toyos, something like 67+vat on the 215/40/17's the 205's for the 16's are actually more expensive for some reason

yes you're quite correct Tony, our 16" TOYO's are slightly more expensive than 17" - its simply down to the fact that our distributer gives us a better price on the 17's over the 16's - the 17" Toyo's are more popular and hence the price is better.

hope this helps

I just went onto www.mytyres.net

and their site is saying...

4X 215/40 ZR16 Toyo Proxes + vat n delivery = £218.40 that's £54.60 per corner! which is like awesome, is it right?

Also the 215/40's will fit a standard MY99 right?

mmm just delved a bit deeper, these tyres might cause some speedo differences shame as theyre £20 cheaper than the 205/50's

I would say that says it all about your driving capacity! There is NO WAY you can get 30,000 miles out of a set of tyres, even the hardest Firestones if you drive hard. I NEVER get more than 3000 miles out of a set of tyres, and that's not driving it hard all the time!

No offence intended.

WendyT,

I finally got the 17" OZs + Toyos that were meant to be with me last Friday. After finding out they'd been loaded to be delivered again when I got to the office, I intercepted the Lynx van just before he made the delivery to my parents house...

I look forward to trying them out.

BTW, I received the ITG filter and headlight protectors yesterday,

Thanks,
