There are plenty of companies that do it and they use 2 pack epoxy paint.

Wheel manufacturers use statically charged powder particles. The paint particles get attracted to the wheels and it is quicker and easier to get a uniform coating. Its also more enviromentally friendly.

A good 2 pack and a low bake oven will make a good job of them.

Do you have a low bake oven to cure them in?

I think you;d be better off paying someone to re-condition them for you. I think it's about £50 a wheel (obviously more than a tenner for some paint at Halfords, but if you want it done properly...)

Question

can I not stick them in my oven? I have 16in rims and they should fit. What gas mark and time should I leave them in there for?

Are you serious?

£100 will get you a professional re-condition done. Shot blast the old paint off, reprofiling to remove kerb marks etc, repainting and lacquor.

If you get your rims microwaved they should be able to do them in your lunchhour!
